Usein Kysytyt Kysymykset

Do our filters work with all iPhones?

Yes. Our Drama, Scape and Hybrid filters are compatible with all iPhone models.  They can be used independently with the clip mount, or mounted directly onto our Wide, Telephoto or Anamorphic Lens. Further details on compatibility:+ All iPhone models -  when used independently (clip mount)+ All iPhone models - when used with Telephoto lens (direct thread mount)+ All iPhone models - when used with Wide lens (direct thread mount)+ All iPhone models - when used with Anamorphic Lens (direct thread mount)**with minimal vignetting that can be cropped in post.+ Most Android models - when used independently (clip mount) StackabilityEarlier versions of our ND filters were stackable. We opted to eliminate stackability to enable direct lens mounting, for a more convenient setup and improved optics.

Can I use a gimbal with SANDMARC Lenses & Filters?

Yes you can!  You will need to make sure the gimbal, lens, filter and the iPhone are properly balanced without the gimbal being on before you use it.  No counter weights are necessary for Osmo 3No counter weights are necessary when using with only our SANDMARC FiltersFor Osmo 4 (OM4) and OM5 gimbals and using our lenses, we recommend our counterweight linked HERE

Do all iPhone models work with SANDMARC Lenses?

All iPhone models from iPhone 7 to current are compatible with SANDMARC lenses. All of our lenses are the same regardless of iPhone model. The only variance in compatibility is the case size. If you upgrade your phone, you'll need a new case in order to mount the lens. All our lenses are compatible with the following models:+ iPhone 12 Pro Max, IPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini+ iPhone 11 Pro Max, IPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11+ iPhone XS Max, iPhone XS, iPhone XR+ iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 8+ iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 7

What's the difference between our Hybrid Filter & Drama?

Our Drama PL filter only eliminates glares and reflections of your subject while our ND filters control the exposure by adding a layer of darker glass in order to maintain the shutter speed for video or photography; ie it's like having sunglasses on your lens. Our Hybrid Filters combine these two into one giving you the ability to control exposure, glares and reflections. We recommend our Hybrid Filter if you use your iPhone for both photography and filmmaking.

Why is my Anamorphic Footage crooked?

Before using the anamorphic lens, ensure the line on the lens is aligned with the line of the case. Please check out this Youtube Video for easy tips to shoot cinematic anamorphic footage.

Do our lenses work on 3rd Party Cases?

Our lenses are designed to work best with SANDMARC case mounts. When using the clip mount, we don't recommend having a case on your phone — it creates a lot of space between the lens and the camera, which is bad for optics. However, some thinner cases will still work while using the clip mount, but with so many third party cases we cannot test the optical results of each one.

Do the lenses work with iPhone's ultrawide camera?

Our lenses do not work with the ultrawide lens. Only our filter system with our patented clip-on works on the ultrawide.

The lens keeps blocking the camera app. What should I do? And which iPhone app should I use?

If you're using the main (primary) wide camera on the iPhone with our lens, we recommend using the native iPhone camera app. For iPhone 13 to current models, the Macro Control mode must be turned on. Easy step by step guide here. When using the telephoto camera, currently, iPhone's dual or triple native camera app does not allow you to separately use the Wide/Telephoto camera. Since the dual/triple camera does not treat each camera independently, you will experience black outs when switching to the telephoto while using any external lens. For photos, we suggest using third-party camera apps of which our favorites are ProCamera & Adobe Lightroom. You can switch between the main or secondary camera using these apps seamlessly. For videos, we recommend either Filmic Pro or the new Cinema P3 for iPhone. And one last tip: when using our Telephoto on the secondary camera, as it's very zoomed, you'll want to always tap-to-focus on a subject when you take photos.
